What's there to do in the winter? ICE FISHING, of course!
|
Walk out on the ice in your La Crosse boots
and creepers, dragging your bait bucket and
gear behind you in your Jet Sled. Check the
ice periodically with your chisel, and when you
reach your "sweet" spot, set up your shelter
and drill a few holes with your hand or power
auger (make sure that power auger has oil!).
Get the tip-ups with fresh tilt line out of your
pack basket, check the depth with your
sounder, make sure your steel leaders are ok
and your hooks are sharp, then bait 'em up and
drop 'em down. If it's slow and the beer isn't
cold enough yet, break out your jigging rod and
favorite jigs, pop on some mousees and give it a
try. Hey!…flag's up! Grab your skimmer and
gaffe, pull off your gloves, and run for it...this
could be the BIG one!
Got everything you need? If not, have your buddies watch your stuff while you head over to our place...you'll see why we're known as ICE FISHING HEADQUARTERS
